El día de su cuarenta cumpleaños, Anastasia decidió comprarse unos zapatos sin tacón, totalmente planos. Buscó y buscó hasta encontrar un par negro de charol muy parecidos a los que tenía de niña y que tanto odiaba. Sin embargo, quedó enamorada de ellos nada más verlos y se los llevó de paseo para estrenarlos.

Dos horas después, ya en casa, se descalzó y se dió cuenta que le dolían muchísimo los pies. ¡No puedo vivir sin tacones! pensó.

Otras dos horas después, cuando leía en la cama, un pensamiento surgió repentinamente en su cabeza y se dió cuenta que el dolor no era por la ausencia de tacones. Le dolían los pies de andar dos horas por el parque.

Anastasia jamás volvió a usar tacones.
